As the protagonists broke atmosphere on Manaan, they encountered an Imperial strike team – a Carrack Class Cruiser and a Lancer-class frigate.
The initial volley devastated the protagonists, as the Lancer’s starfighter weapons were brought to bear, dealing a crippling blow to the skipray blastboat and causing the ship to have to flee back to Manaan. A TIE Interceptor attempted pursuit, but was destroyed by a well-timed blaster shot by Jinx.
After arriving back at a hidden spacedock in the Shadowport, the protagonists made contact with a female Rodian merchant that was a known associate of Seebo. They attempted to arrange contact with Seebo, but the female Rodian said she would pass along the message and fled into the back alleys of the shadowport as war raged in the marketplace. Oddly enough, 3 areas remained relatively untouched: the junkshop front of the Imperials, the cantina where the protagonists met the mysterious facilliator, and the highly reputable gambling establishment of Gorba the Hutt.
While the protagonists waited for the Rodians, they spied on the holonet and found out that their files were leaked onto the holonet by the Imperials, with a 10,000 credit bounty with the accusations of desertion, theft, and encouraging sedition. There was a separate bounty placed by Gorba the Hutt on behalf of both his kajidic and his organization (Black Sun) of a 25,000 bounty (dead preferably) for interfering with Hutt business and bringing the Imperials into the Hutt’s business.
The female Rodian named Sylva returned to the protagonists and offered them a deal: Rescue Seebo from the Imperials, and they could flee the shadowport on the Rodians’ ship. The protagonists agreed, and stormed the Imperial detention facility. During the breakout, Toolbox rigged a stripped down Proton Torpedo to explode and destroy a good part of the detention center while CZ-42 incapaciated an Imperial officer and Jinx pinned down 3 stormtroopers. Upon killing the stormtroopers, detonating the proton torpedo, and murdering the Imperial officer, the protagonists breached the door into the jail cells.
In the jail cells, they ran into what appeared to be an Imperial Guardsman. A short but brutal battle ensued, ending when Toolbox unleashed a fury of blows, knocking the Imperial Guardsman to the ground and beaten to death in an uncharacteristic display of savagery. The prisoners – a mix of Zabrak, Human, and Rodians were freed, and everyone made their escape.
Upon rescuing Seebo, the protagonists stripped all they could from the mostly destroyed blastboat – leaving behind the computer cores but keeping the bacta tank – and rigging one of the proton torpedoes to explode. They made their way to the Rodian’s ship – an old, Clone War era Republic Consular cruiser retrofitted initlially as a gunship and then as a transport for the Rodians.
The protagonists blasted off Manaan, destroying the 2 TIE Interceptors and making the jump to hyperspace towards an old location known to CZ-42 as a off-books Clone War base in the Silken Asteroids – but not before intercepting the Imperial signal to initiate a Base Delta Zero manuever on the shadowport.
